My field of activity at the institute involves investigating wear behavior in engines, with a focus on compressor blades. To this end, I have developed a process that parameterizes and systematically evaluates 3D scans of real blades, both new and used. The blades are then automatically CFD-simulated to perform a precise performance evaluation of their aerodynamic properties. Currently, my focus is particularly on the development of overall engine performance models and the integration of meta-models based on neural networks. These approaches enable more efficient analysis and improve the predictive accuracy of wear effects over the entire engine life cycle.
