Research Data

Research data in the research process

Research data is generated in the course of scientific research projects: It is both the basis and the result of scientific work. The responsible handling of collected research data and the software that generates it serves the goal of traceability and verifiability of research.

In the research process, research data go through a cycle from project planning to data collection and processing, data publication and reuse. All these aspects unite in the term research data management (RDM).

The Technische Universität Braunschweig supports its scientists in the implementation of quality-conscious data management in the sense of ensuring good scientific practice and promoting greater transparency in their research. In its meeting on 13 December 2017, the Senate of the TU Braunschweig approved Guidelines for the Handling of Research Data at the Technische Universität Braunschweig. In line with the Open Access Policy of TU Braunschweig, researchers are recommended to make their research data accessible for subsequent use as far as possible.
