Research Data

Managing Research Data Responsibly

Research data is generated in the course of scientific research projects: It is both the basis and the result of scientific work. The responsible handling of collected research data and the software that generates it serves the goal of traceability and verifiability of research.

The Technische Universität Braunschweig supports its scientists in the implementation of quality-conscious data management in the sense of ensuring good scientific practice and promoting greater transparency in their research. In its meeting on 13 December 2017, the Senate of the TU Braunschweig approved Guidelines for the Handling of Research Data (German only) at the Technische Universität Braunschweig. In line with the Guidelines on Open Access (German only) of the TU Braunschweig, researchers are recommended to make their research data accessible for subsequent use as far as possible.

Research data is an increasingly important resource for research. The presidency of the TU Braunschweig supports the researchers in handling these data responsibly and at the same time encourages the scientists to publish them openly, if possible.
