Junior research group leaders

[Translate to English:]

If you have initial research experience after completing your PhD, you can either apply for an advertised position as a junior research group leader or actively seek funding to establish your own junior research group. In particular, we would like to support you in obtaining funding from the European Research Council (ERC), the German Research Association (DFG) and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Science (BMBF). The selection will be made on a highly competitive basis with external review, which means that you can be awarded the right to supervise a doctorate in this way.

Funded junior research groups

TU Braunschweig is funding a total of seven junior research groups with a duration of four years with means of the Excellence Strategy. Read more about these and other JRGs with highly competitive funding.

Additional funding: Agnes-Pockels-Fellowship

Within the framework of the Agnes-Pockels-Fellowship programme, TU Braunschweig supports particularly promising young scientists who come to the university with a junior research group. You can find out more here.

Support for international researchers

TU Braunschweig would particularly like to support international researchers who are interested in leading a junior research group. If you decide to pursue a research stay in Braunschweig, the team of the Mobile Researchers' Services will gladly accompany you through all steps from the first planning to the orientation on site.
