As a member of the research group “Modeling and System Analysis of Aero Engines”, I work on the interface between model-based and data-driven methods for designing and analysing current and future aero engines. My focus lies on the development of performance analysis of propulsion systems —ranging from classical turbofan engines to disruptive technologies.
A key aspect of my research is the thermodynamic modeling and simulation of propulsion systems to evaluate their efficiency, robustness, and sustainability. I employ both model-based methods and data-driven techniques to analyze the interactions between components. What excites me most is the challenge of developing methods that enable the realistic representation of physical systems as digital twins, while combining technical depth with practical feasibility.
My work is closely tied to validation using the IFAS research engines and collaboration with partners from industry and academia.
