Together with students from all over the world, you can develop your academic skills, learn German, make new contacts and experience German history and culture in TU Braunschweig's international Summer School courses.
The Braunschweig International Graduate School of Metrology organises an annual summer school on the topic of metrology in science at Drübeck Monastery. This year it will take place in the week from 18 to 21 August 2025. The Summer School is primarily aimed at doctoral students from TU Braunschweig and PTB, but is also open to anyone interested.
The programme includes interdisciplinary lectures from physics, chemistry, life sciences and engineering - in the context of metrological issues. Poster sessions and evening events offer space for dialogue and networking with scientists from PTB, TU Braunschweig and representatives from industry. In addition, Prof Dr Meinhard Schilling, supervisor and speaker of the B-IGSM, will offer a workshop on successfully writing dissertations.

The International Autumn School in September/October 2026 is aimed at all international exchange students and students enrolled in English-language degree programmes who will be starting their studies at TU Braunschweig or their exchange semester in the winter semester of 2026/27. The four-week course will prepare you optimally for your studies at TU Braunschweig.
The International Spring School in March 2026 is aimed at all international exchange students and students enrolled in English-language degree programmes who will be starting their studies at TU Braunschweig or their exchange semester in the summer semester of 2026. The four-week course will prepare you optimally for your studies at TU Braunschweig.
The Nonlinear Optimisation and Combinatorics Summer School comprises a series of independent yet thematically linked introductory lectures on nonlinear optimisation, polynomial optimisation and the intersection of optimisation and combinatorics. It will take place from 28 August to 2 September 2025 on the main campus of TU Braunschweig.
The primary audience is PhD candidates, although advanced master’s students and early-career postdoctoral researchers are also warmly invited to participate. In addition to the academic programme, there will be a group excursion to the Harz Mountains.
