Since 2024, the new TU Teaching Awards have been presented to honor the outstanding work of teachers and students in courses. The award was designed to establish a lean, fair, and equitable nomination and evaluation process that places students at the center of both phases.
Sorting Phase Starting
The nomination phase has successfully concluded. Thank you for the many submissions! During the sorting phase, the student councils and subject groups from all six faculties will select a shortlist of the best courses within their respective faculties.
Save the Date: the award ceremony will take place on 3 November 2026 in the Aula of the Haus der Wissenschaft.
The student-centred teaching award serves as an incentive for lecturers to continuously develop and promote innovative teaching methods. Lecturers and students alike benefit from the teaching award, as it helps to create an inspiring learning environment and further improve the quality of teaching at TU Braunschweig.
The students' perspective takes centre stage: the nomination and selection of the award winners is entirely up to the students. Courses that took place in the previous winter or following summer semester are honoured.
The pre-selection is made by the student representatives of the six faculties. A student jury then decides on the final award winners based on the nominations, reasons for selectionfrom the student representatives, as well as evaluation results or teaching concepts. A guideline supports the students in the decision-making process based on criteria such as teaching methods, subject expertise or student involvement.
The award ceremony always takes place at the beginning of the winter semester. The final winners are announced on site. You can also look forward to an exciting guest lecture and a champagne reception to round off the evening.
