Ampere

Ampere - Adaptive management of the potential enhancement of resource efficacy

Project period: 2008 to 2011

The project was carried out in cooperation with the elenia Institute (Prof. Dr. Michael Kurrat).

In Ampere, we deal with various issues such as influencing electricity consumption behavior. How can electricity consumption in private households be reduced? How can people be persuaded to shift their electricity consumption over time? Which behavioral science models and theories can be applied here?

Another topic is smart metering. The development of smart meters ("intelligent", digital electricity meters) is creating numerous new opportunities to change electricity consumption behavior through the design of web portals or in-home displays, for example.

The topic of e-mobility will also be included in the future.

The Smart Metering pilot project, which is being carried out for BS|Energy, is linked to this project.
