Institute of Psychology - Methodology and Biopsychology (IPMB)

Spielmannstrasse 19

The Institute of Psychology - Methodology and Biopsychology (IPMB) was established in the winter semester 2001/02 and was reorganised from the previous Department of Mathematical Psychology and Social Psychology (Prof. Dr. Micko).

It is located on the 2nd floor of Spielmannstraße 19.

The department is headed by Prof. Dr. Frank Eggert.

We have a behavioural science orientation and our work is based on findings from behavioural psychology and behavioural biology.

In addition to fundamental research questions, we also work on application-oriented problems in the form of corresponding projects, partly in co-operation with non-university research institutions, clinics or on behalf of industrial or medium-sized companies.

We offer courses in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in psychology. These cover the entire field of research methodology as well as the behavioural approaches in psychology and biology, the underlying mechanisms, which are dealt with in the context of biopsychology, and the formal parts of diagnostics in the context of measurement and test theory.
