Hydrogen-Powered Aviation
In a scenario of pandemic-crisis in the aviation sector, concerns regarding the future of aviation and the increasing pressure to make flying more sustainable have motivated intensive investigations on solutions towards decarbonization. Among the alternatives to reduce the reliance on fossil kerosene, hydrogen comes up as a promising energy carrier with high specific energy properties and with the potential to reduce the environmental impact of mobility. Either using hydrogen for combustion or in fuel cells, its potential as a fuel for a more sustainable aviation has been discussed for several years now.
In this context, focusing on robustly assessing the life cycle environmental implications, different topics are being offered for student theses.
