Additive Manufactuing I
This research-based course explores sustainable construction through the fusion of natural materials and advanced technology. Focusing on robotically 3D-printed clay formwork, students will investigate innovative casting techniques and rethink digital fabrication methods. Working in three groups, students will conduct independent research across the themes of Geometry, Assembly, and Material Stabilization. The course covers fundamentals of scientific research, 3D modeling, and robotic control, culminating in a full-scale demonstrator. Beyond design, the project examines the broader implications of digital materialization for future architectural applications.
