Definition of nanotechnology, history of nanotechnology, development stages of nanotechnology, general areas of application of nanotechnology, opportunities and risks. Production of nanomaterials (liquid phase synthesis, sol-gel technology, gas phase synthesis), examples of the application of nanomaterials (functional thin films, nanocomposites and hybrid polymers), economic success with nanomaterials (innovation structures, funding instruments, corporate venture).
