Engineering Mechanics 1

Course content

After completing this course attendees are familiar with the basic concepts and methods of statics and mechanics of materials. The course enables the attendees to model, design and assess elastostatic components and systems.

Basic concepts of mechanics, free body diagrams, properties of bodies and systems, ropes and bars, statically determinate trusses, influence lines, stresses, Mohr’s circle, strains, Hooke’s law, temperature expansion, moments of inertia, bending and torsion of beams, distribution of shear stresses in profiles, statically indeterminate systems.
