Electromagnetic Fields

Course content

On finishing this module the students have a survey of the theoretical principals of electrical engineering. They are able to analyze basic electrotechnical problems to the significant details.

Content:

  • Introduction to classical electromagnetic field theory;
  • physical first principles,
  • transformation of the force equations of Coulomb and Biot-Savart into the differential form,
  • Faraday law of induction,
  • Maxwells displacemt current,
  • Maxwell equations· Maxwell equations in matter, equivalent circuit diagram· Plane wave solutions of the wave equation, Fresnel equations
