CM-A-FPA Research Laboratory Chemistry in Life Science A (Lab Course, Seminar)

Course content

Intended learning outcomes:
The students possess advanced synthetic and analytical skills in chemistry in life sciences. They are able to plan, perform, and analyze experiments and simulations and the scientifically document their research. They have participated in and contributed to a current research project. They have experience in the synthesis, isolation, characterization, and analysis of compunds relevant to chemistry in the life sciences. They are able to choose suitable analysis methods for different classes of substances and to collect the required analytical data. They are familiar with the techniques of scientific reserach as well as good scientific practices and are able to use scientific databases. They are able to find and comprehend scientific arcticles.


Course content:
Research Lab: Conduction and scientific documentation of two sub-projects in organic synthesis and of one sub-project in organic analysis and substance isolation or three subprojects from food chemistry or biochemistry.
Seminar: Participation in scientific colloquia, presentation and discussion of current research results.
