Biomedical Image and Signal Analysis

Course content

QUALIFICATION OBJECTIVES:

Upon successful completion of the module, students will be able to classify and compare digital images and signals of the human body. They will also be able to distinguish and compare linear and nonlinear filters and analyze ECG signals and determine their components. In addition, they are able to segment, classify and quantify biomedical images and to use and evaluate model-based image analysis techniques.

CONTENTS:

  • Low-level methods for image enhancement
  • Registration of image pairs and image sequences
  • Thresholds and histogram transformations
  • Point, edge and region-based image segmentation
  • Automation and batch processing of many similar data.
