Applied Plant Genomics - Exercise course

Course content

Students plan a genome sequencing experiment with a plant species from the botanical garden and then carry out this experiment. This includes the extraction of high-molecular DNA, the preparation of a library for sequencing, the sequencing process itself, the conversion of the electrical signal into sequence and the subsequent quality control of the data. Subsequently, the steps of a genome assembly including the associated annotation are practised.
