Italian

Language of culture and official language of the EU

Who doesn't know the world-famous Made in Italy seal? And since Italy is Germany's second-largest trading partner, knowledge of Italian as a key qualification opens up excellent prospects on the labour market, especially in the fields of fashion, design, architecture, advertising or the automotive industry. Italian is a language of culture, and not without reason: around two-thirds of all art treasures declared by UNESCO to be part of the cultural heritage of mankind are to be found in Italy.

In Germany, too, hundreds of thousands of Italians help shape the country's lifestyle and culture.

Language Tandems

Are you learning a foreign language and would like to improve your language skills?

Then sign up for our tandem programme and find a suitable tandem partner through our portal!

The principle is simple: You and your tandem partner speak your native language half of the time, your partner’s native language the rest of the time. This way you are not only learning to use the language practically in everyday life, but you also learn a lot about the other culture. Both languages are spoken equally, so you are alternately a learner and a teacher.
