The two-day scientific conference “Ecosystem services of green building envelopes – observations and modelling” invites researchers to present recent insights and developments in ecosystem processes of vegetated roofs and walls. The conference aims to present both model studies and observations at different spatial scales, from the leaf level to the city scale, and at different temporal scales, from short-term to long-term studies. The meeting is organized in the framework of the bilateral research project GREENVELOPES (Carbon and water exchange of green building envelopes) jointly carried out by CNRM (Météo-France/CNRS) and Technische Universität Braunschweig.
The conference will focus on ecosystem processes and ecosystem services provided by green building envelopes, i.e. roofs and walls. We invite results from both observational and modelling studies.
We welcome abstracts addressing topics which focus on the following main themes, but are not limited to:
The conference will be held from 11-12 February 2026 at Haus der Wissenschaft in Braunschweig, Germany. A call for abstracts with further information will be distributed in September 2025.
