The dynamics of vortices govern the magnetoresistive response of technologically relevant superconductors and determine their performance at high current densities. Controlled vortex motion provides a powerful platform for exploring many-body systems with competing interactions. In our research, we harness laser-controlled steering of vortices to manipulate them with the goal of on-demand manipulation of vortices as quantized bits of information. On this topic, we collaborate with the Institute of Semiconductor Technology within the Cluster of Excellence QuantumFrontiers.
