The research interest and the community of interest

The research interest group "Leaving the Cult" is concerned with the subject of

"Basics and Standards of Psychological Research in Times of Crisis"

The so-called replication crisis is a current and relevant problem in psychology. The researchers in the group want to address this issue. The core thesis is that it is not just a methodological problem, but rather a fundamental theoretical problem in the science of psychology (and other social sciences).

Next Steps?

The conference "Leaving the Cult" from 4th-5th of April 2019 forms the starting point for collaboration in research on the replication and theory crisis in psychology and other (social) sciences.

A further meeting was planned for the beginning of 2020, at which presentations by participants and discussions of various kinds on different problems in psychology were intended. Unfortunately, these plans had to be canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We are looking for new ways to realize the meeting in 2025.
