Congrats, Atharva! His student paper on PI-GEFN: A Physics-Informed Graph Edge Filter Network inspired by finite element formulation got accepted in GAMMAS, a student journal run by the GAMM Juniors. The paper has been written as part of his specialization project.
We are happy to announce that on March 6, 2026, David Anton successfully defended his PhD thesis. The title of his work is "Uncertainty quantification in constitutive model calibration and discovery in computational solid mechanics". Congratulations!
We thank all participants for attending the GAMM AG Data workshop from February 11-12, 2026! The book of abstracts can be found here. We are looking forward for the next workshop at Leibniz University Hannover, organized by Fadi Aldakheel, from February 1-2, 2027.
On Nov. 25, 2025,Vahab Knauf Narouie successfully defended his dissertation paper titled "Statistical Finite Element Methods for State Estimation and Constitutive Model Discovery".
From September 21 to 24, 2025, TU Braunschweig hosted the 11th GACM Colloquium on Computational Mechanics for Young Scientists from Academia and Industry. The event brought together young researchers and participants from academia and industry for several days of scientific exchange, discussion, and networking.
The colloquium offered an excellent opportunity to present current research, discuss recent developments in computational mechanics, and strengthen connections within the community. The wide range of contributions highlighted the breadth and vitality of the field.
The event was organized by the Institute of Applied Mechanics at TU Braunschweig, with contributions from colleagues across different institutes. The Division of Data-driven Modeling of Mechanical Systems was also closely involved in the organization.
We thank all speakers, participants, and organizers for contributing to a successful and stimulating event.
