Insights Of The Alumni-Clubs.net Conference 2025

2.5 days full of inspiring exchanges, food for thought and take-home messages

From 14-16 May, part of the Alumni & Career Service Office visited the Constructor University in Bremen as part of the alumni-clubs.net conference.

Below we summarise our key learnings and ideas for the coming months:

  1. Growth and engagement in balance: Attracting more members on the one hand, but always offering alumni real added value on the other.
  2. Living performance transparency: Communicate clearly why we offer which formats - and keep listening: What do our alumni really need?
  3. Anchor the alumni strategy multiple times: Create it once, but communicate it at least seven times! This is the only way to keep the topic present in busy diaries.
  4. Alumni are all-round talents! They know both the internal and external perspective of our institution - this potential should be actively integrated.

Other topics that we found particularly exciting:

  • Definition and support of Alumni Ambassadors
  • Measuring engagement levels among alumni and stakeholders
  • New touchpoints for our alumni - let us surprise you!

We will take this motto with us for our next processes:
'First ponder, then dowel' ("Erst grübeln, dann dübeln!"; quote from Dr. Christian Mencke) - before we go into implementation, we pause, analyse goals and effects and then get started.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the board of alumni-clubs.net Christian Kramberg, Christine Hassert, Daniela Zwicker, Andreas Ehrmann, Dagmar Kramberg, our colleagues from Constructor University Ilya Kompasov, Jano L., Saad El Jouhmi, Mark Dziak, Tanja Woebs and Clémentine Senicourt and all the speakers and participants!

We are already looking forward to the next Alumni-clubs.net conference in Mannheim 2026!
