Start of studies 50 years ago!

That was the reason for the meeting on Friday 17 October 2025 of almost 30 alumni and thus about half of the first semester students of 1975 on the Computer Science course. Computer Science was introduced at TU Braunschweig in 1972 as a new degree programme - it was the first Computer Science course in Lower Saxony at the time and was one of the first generation of fourteen Computer Science subjects in Germany.

After a guided tour of the TU organised with the support of the Alumni-Nnetwork, there was a lively and detailed meeting in the Informatics Centre with the exchange of many stories from back then. All participants were very happy to see old fellow students again and saw the meeting as a great event.
