Networking Across Generations in the Master's Programme in Digital Communication and Media Technologies

On 28 October 2025, a networking event for the Master's degree programme in Digital Communication and Media Technologies (DiKuM) took place at the Institute of Communications Technology. The event was organised by two academic staff from TU Braunschweig who are themselves alumnae of the course - Carla Reinhardt (Institute of Communications Engineering) and Evelyn Jonas (Institute of Communication Science). The DiKuM is characterised in particular by its interdisciplinary nature, as it combines communication science and communications engineering in a unique way. Around 15 students start each year, which favours a familiar and direct connection with each other. This was also evident at the networking event sponsored by the Braunschweig University Association! Alumni, students and lecturers from the TU were invited. The guests included Prof Reimers and Prof Taddicken, as well as graduates from a wide range of years, including some who started their studies in 2013.

The evening was filled with many stimulating conversations about the career paths that the alumni have taken, which specialisations they have chosen and also about everyday student life in general. In a relaxed atmosphere with games to get to know each other, table tennis, drinks and snacks, it was noted again and again that most of them have retained a connection to both core topics of the degree programme.

This is what connecting generations in practice looks like! Thank you for this wonderful evening together!
