SCOUT: Programme to support and connect international students

For both academic achievement and health, it is crucial to make social contacts and find people that support you during your stay in Germany. It is never easy to start studying at a new university - even more so, when you also have to adjust to the natives' odd habits in a new country.

With more than 2,000 students from all over the world studying at TU Braunschweig, we feel that it is our responsibility to make you feel at home.

SCOUT is aiming to integrate international students into everyday life at German university, and to meet and connect with native students. Equally, native students should get the chance to make in-depth contact with foreign cultures and gain intercultural competencies.

During the SCOUT programme, international and native students will work together in dyads and groups to mutually improve intercultural competences and networks. The whole process will be advised and supported by experts to ensure success for both sides.

News and reports from previous participants can be found on our facebook page.

SCOUT is a cooperation of the department of Industrial/Organizational and Social Psychology, and the TU's International Office.
During the last three semesters, we supported already about 150 international and native students, respectively.
