Over the past three months, we’ve had the great pleasure of welcoming Marcella Floris from the University of Bologna (Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna) to our team at Technische Universität Braunschweig. Her visit was part of the Italian PhD program, which includes an international research stay—and we’re so glad she chose to spend it with us!
Marcella, supervised by Prof. Dina Guglielmi & Greta Mazzetti, is doing exciting work on sustainable careers of university students—a topic that aligns beautifully with our own research in work and organizational psychology. Her stay also sparked valuable exchanges related to our own project, GesA-Stud, where we develop and evaluate interventions to support students’ well-being and long-term academic success. A special thanks also to Stephanie Hirschberger, who worked closely with Marcella on the topic of sustainable careers and helped make her stay even more impactful.
Here are just a few things that made her visit so enriching:
- We developed fresh ideas: Marcella's perspective from the Italian academic context and her focus on career sustainability led to lively discussions and promising new research directions.
- We’re building something lasting: After joint symposia (e.g. at AOM), we’re now planning co-authored publications and look forward to continued collaboration.
A big thank-you to Marcella for her openness, curiosity, and contributions. This visit has been a fantastic reminder of how international collaboration fuels science—and friendships.
We’re looking forward to what’s ahead!
... and it's always fun to show and rediscover Braunschweig. The picture includes ‘Mutter Habenicht’.
