First MesSBAR drone is up in the air! Another important milestone in our project #MesSBAR ! A few weeks ago, we have successfully accomplished the maiden flight of our 25 kg prototype. The purpose of this #drone is to analyze the concentration of #airpollutants in urban areas in up to 1000 m height. It is the result of a thorough CS-standard oriented development process and a close collaboration of Leichtwerk Research with the Institute of Flight Guidance of the TU Braunschweig and the rest of the team: - Leibniz-Institut für Troposphärenforschung - Forschungszentrum Jülich - Bundesanstalt für Straßenwesen - Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt - Umweltbundesamt After the extensive flight and functional test program the prototype and two more drones will be used for several measurement campaigns at different locations in Germany. Sophisticated data about pollutant concentration and distribution will be produced and helps to find solutions for cleaner air!
