Sustainability in Aviation – Winter 2026/27

How can we make the future of flight more sustainable? Join Sustainability in Aviation at TU Braunschweig’s Institute of Flight Guidance (IFF) and explore how technology, operations and industry decisions contribute to more sustainable aviation.

Led by Dr Marc Launer (Boeing), the course examines emissions, energy sources, aircraft design, manufacturing, flight operations, airport infrastructure, digitalisation and life-cycle management.

This year, the course connects learning with practical experience through:

  • A group project: Work with fellow students to apply course concepts and develop ideas for addressing aviation sustainability challenges.
  • An excursion to a Boeing facility: Gain first-hand insight into an aviation industry environment and connect classroom learning with practice.
  • Internship and thesis opportunities with Boeing: Learn about opportunities to develop your skills and pursue industry-related research.
