TU Teaching Award 2026

The TU Teaching Award will start in the summer semester 2026. All students who took part in a course in the winter semester 2025/26 or summer semester 2026 can submit their nominations via Stud.IP from May until the end of the summer semester.

The TU Teaching Awards are awarded in the following categories:

  • Best Lecture
  • Best Undergraduate Course
  • Best Seminar
  • Best Tutorial/Best Laboratory
  • Best Student Tutorial

In order to honour the outstanding teaching activities of lecturers and students in the courses, the TU Teaching Awards will be presented for the third time in autumn 2026.

The award is presented for courses attended by students in the past winter semester 2025/26 and summer semester 2026.

Nomination and selection of the winners is done exclusively by students. After the nomination process, the departmental student representative committees will make an initial pre-selection. The final decision on the award winners is made by a student jury.

The assessment is based on various elements, including nominations submitted by students, expert evaluations provided by academic departments and student councils, as well as course evaluations or teaching concepts. The decision-making process is guided by criteria such as the clarity and structure of teaching, the methods employed, student engagement, subject-specific expertise, and social and ethical responsibility.
