Applicants who do not hold a German higher education entrance certificate (Abitur) or who have not completed part of their education in German (language of instruction) have to provide one of the following:
TestDaF 4x3 (3 points or more in each sections of the test)
DSH 1 (57% or more overall)
Telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule
Students have to prove at least a level of A2 upon enrolment in September. The TeatDaF 3/ DSH-1 may be provided after the 3rd semester at the latest.
Applicants who do not hold an Englisch higher education entrance certificate or who have not completed part of their education in English (language of instruction) have to provide one of the following:
TOEFL (IBT, 79 points or more)
IELTS (6,5 or higher)
DAAD language certificate (3xB2 and 1xC1 or higher) or a similar language certificate
A complete application for CSE includes the following documents:
original and translations of your university certificates in English or German (B.Sc. degree and transcript of records) with all subjects studied, including marks (most recent transcript if not yet graduated)
Letter of motivation indicating and giving reasons for their strong interest in the individual fields of study, as well as specifying on what specific prior knowledge or interests their specialised qualification for the CSE degree programme is based. The statement should in particular also make reference to the multidisciplinary course content in Engineering Sciences, Mathematics and Scientific Computing.

The TU Braunschweig charges a fee of € 70 for the assessment of foreign qualifications which you have to pay when applying. Detailed information on payment procedures is provided at the end of the online application process.
You are exempt from the assessment fee, if:
The Language Centre at the TU Braunschweig or the VHS Braunschweig has issued you an application confirmation for your visa application.
You have received a German Bachelor Degree within a Dual Bachelor Degree-Program.
You have already paid the assessment fee for a previous application to the TU Braunschweig. If yes, please provide your prior application number.
You have received a scholarship from a national German scholarship provider (e.g. DAAD).
You are already enrolled at the TU Braunschweig as a degree seeking student and are applying for a different course of study.
Your documents have already been assessed by the German Ministry of Education (in Germany).
