Outstanding Master Thesis

We congratulate Mr. Yong Hou for being awarded for an „Outstanding Master Thesis“ by the Education Bureau of the People’s Government of Hebei Province, China, on February 25, 2013!

Mr. Hou participated in the projects „Recycling of organic residues from agricultural and municipal origin in China“ (BMBF-MOST) and PPP-China Baoding (DAAD): „Optimizing soil carbon and nutrient balances and flows in a Chinese peri-urban region with intensive animal husbandry“. He stayed at the Institute of Geoecology as a guest scientist twice for several months in 2010 and 2011.

Mr. Hou’s Master Thesis dealt with „Characteristics and Regulatory Approaches of Nutrient Flows in Intensive “Crop – Livestock” Production Systems of the Peri-urban Area of China“ and was supervised by Prof. Dr. Wenqi Ma of the Agricultural University of Hebei in Baoding. Several publications in international and Chinese peer-reviewed journals have resulted from Mr. Hou’s Master Thesis.

Mr. Yong Hou is currently pursuing his studies for Ph.D. at Wageningen University in The Netherlands.
