The Institute of Structural Design (ITE, Institut für Tragwerksentwurf) works at the intersection of architecture and civil engineering, drawing on robotics, computer science, and mechanical engineering to investigate how digital technologies can shape what we build and how we build it.
As part of the interdisciplinary Zentrum für Digitale und Integrierte Bauprozesse (ZDIB), ITE is looking for a motivated

Student Assistant (HiWi, f/m/d) – Data Processing and Analysis
40 hours per month, negotiable

to support researchers from three collaborating institutes (ITE, IBB, and IfSB) in collecting, processing, and analysing data.

Your tasks:

  • Support field data collection on workers’ mental and physical workload, productivity, and related indicators
  • Process, annotate, and integrate data from different sources
  • Develop and apply automated and, where relevant, AI-supported routines for data analysis
  • Visualise data and support the preparation of reports
  • Support organisational and practical activities at TU Braunschweig’s Digital Construction Site (DCS) and partner construction sites
  • Depending on your interests, contribute to further activities in digital construction, automation, robotics, and data processing.

Your profile:

  • Interest in programming, data analysis, and application development
  • Basic programming experience in at least one of Python, MATLAB, C++, or C#, preferably including data processing
  • Ability to work independently, carefully, and reliably
  • Willingness to collaborate across disciplines
  • Good English communication skills; German language skills are an additional asset
  • Experience with Rhino/Grasshopper is an advantage but not required
  • Enrolment at TU Braunschweig, preferably Master of engineering, mathematics, computer science, or a related discipline... but, relevant skills and willingness to learn are the most important!

  • Remuneration in accordance with TU Braunschweig’s current rates for student assistants
  • A pay of €15.20 (in Bachelor's studies) or €15.81 (in Master's studies) per hour.

Starting date: As soon as possible
Working hours: Approximately 40 hours per month, by agreement
Duration: Initial contract duration by agreement, with the possibility of extension
