New Publication on Heat Convection under Aircraft Icing Conditions

As a result of the cooperation with the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, DLR Braunschweig and the Technical University of Braunschweig, a scientific paper was published. In this study, an experimental test rig and a numerical approach for the analysis of convective heat transfer from a multifunctional plate sample under aircraft icing conditions are developed and the results are presented. The experimental setup consists of a heat monitoring, temperature control and measurement system installed in the deicing test rig. Ambient temperature, air velocity and angle of attack are discussed as influencing parameters on heat transfer during local Joule heating.
