The Library of the ISW contains  about 100.000 books and ca. 100 journal subscriptions and is the largest decentral faculty library of the university. In addition, there is a video- and a press archive. With a lending period of four weeks, the library is very student-friendly.The library was ranked in the top group of social science faculty libraries in Germany in the 2002 and 2004 university rankings of Stern Magazine.

Business hours during term:

Mo - Thu: 9-17 and Fr: 9-13                                          
Loan extensions can only be granted in person during term time. In exceptional cases (e.g. illness) extension could be granted by email (bib-isw@tu-bs.de) or by phone (0531/391-8925).                                                                                                                                                             

Buisness hours in term break:

Mo - Thu: 10-13 and Fr: 13-16                    
Loan extensions can be done under exceptional circumstances via email (bib-isw@tu-bs.de) or by phone (0531/391-8925). Based on individual cases and individual agreement with library staff, books can be returned also outside the official opening hours.
