INTEKNO

INTEKNO - International TechKnowlogy Entrepreneurship Hub

About the project

The strategic concept of an International TechKNOWlogy Entrepreneurship Hub (INTEKNO) focusing on the technology fields of mobility and sustainability will be implemented under the leadership of the TU Braunschweig in conjunction with Ostfalia University of Applied Science. The starting point for the concept is the long-term international research and teaching cooperation of universities in China, India, Singapore and Finland. The INTEKNO project forms the strategic and organizational framework for the project, in which it offers excellent conditions for start-ups.

Goal

INTEKNO provides the strategic and organisational framework for the project, offering excellent conditions for start-ups. INTEKNO's services in the areas of qualification, start-up support, application coaching for EXIST grants, incubation and networking are intended to attract and integrate high potentials with knowledge-based start-up ideas from the co-operating universities in the target countries into the Braunschweig research and economic region. Within the framework of the INTEKNO programme launch, foreign and German start-up teams are to be formed in order to jointly develop business models. Through these linkages, the emerging international start-ups are to be firmly anchored in the Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel-Wolfsburg region. During the start-up and growth phase, they will also be given access to foreign markets through networking with cooperation partners from industry, chambers of commerce, associations and other interest groups, thus enabling them to scale internationally.

Role of Institute of Machine Tools and Production Technology

The Institute of Machine Tools and Production Technology of the TU Braunschweig deals on a conceptual level with  the INTEKNO project, aiming to intergrate the concepts of sustainabilty assessments in buisness models and providing case studies by addresing the following research questions:

  1. Modelling and shaping the interfaces between sustainability assessments and business models taking a System of Systems approach.
  2. Defining the quantitative sustainability indicators needed to characterise sustainable business models within the scope of electric mobility in urban environments.
  3. Analyse the challenges and advantages of embedding IC-LCE approach into a business development environment.
  4. Providing case studies and examples in the context of electric mobility and circular economy.
