Antwerp Winter University – Philosophy of the Dead Body

​Dead human bodies have an ambiguous status: object and subject, material and symbol, revered and despised. Do you agree? Come and explore the ethical, metaphysical and political implications of this observation in an international context that takes into account death care practices within and outside of Belgium. ​Find out more

The winter school is designed for Master students and (early) PhD students with a background in philosophy or in death studies. 

Prerequisites: Knowledge of or affinity with philosophical methods and approaches is required as our target audience is Master students in Philosophy.
