Mental Strategies for Students (30.04.2026 – 25.06.2026)

The ‘all-inclusive’ programme for combating stress!

This multi-part seminar will help you expand your skills in dealing with stress in a variety of ways. You will gain a better understanding of how stress develops and learn effective, long-term methods that will help you deal with stress in a more relaxed and healthy way. Good time and learning management as well as dealing with exam anxiety are just as much a part of the programme as learning about autogenic training.

For many students, time pressure, performance pressure or exam anxiety play an important role in everyday life. But just as varied as the stressors are the ways to combat stress. This seminar is offered by Techniker Krankenkasse as part of the HEALTH4YOU project and is aimed at students of all disciplines who want to reduce stress and improve their stress management skills in the long term. The course is also open to non-members of TK. Regular attendance is required. The seminar takes place in a small group led by a qualified psychologist.

Please only register if you can attend all or most of the sessions. If you are unsure, please contact the seminar leader in advance: stresskompetent@gmx.de

Superfoods, Functional Food & Health Claims – Science or Markezing? (07.05.2026)

Chia, goji, matcha, or acai—so-called “superfoods” have become an integral part of social media, advertising, and supermarket shelves. At the same time, many products marketed as “functional foods” promise additional health benefits. But what is the actual scientific basis behind these terms?

This lecture provides an overview of the concepts of superfoods and functional foods, classifies them from a nutritional science perspective, and highlights current studies on the health effects of selected foods. It also discusses the role that marketing, legal regulations, and sustainability aspects play in this dietary trend. The question of whether regional foods can compete with exotic “superfoods” will also be addressed.

The event is aimed at students and, in addition to providing expert insights, offers space for discussion and critical analysis of current dietary trends.

Burn On&Brain Hacking (18.09.2026)

You read that right—this isn’t the well-known “burnout,” but rather the relatively new term “burn-on.” Chronic stress and overload have long been a reality in modern work and academic life. Burn-on describes a creeping state of exhaustion—without a visible breakdown, often going unnoticed for a long time and associated with significant health costs.

This workshop demonstrates in a practical way how to recognize warning signs early on and use scientifically grounded strategies to safeguard performance and mental health in the long term.
