Athletic and functional training has become increasingly important over time. Initially, this form of training was ridiculed. Thanks to (sports) scientific findings, athletic training is now an integral part of many individual and team sports. But what exactly is hidden behind the term “athletic training” and how can we train athletically for specific sports and everyday life? These and other questions will be answered in the “Athletic training” seminar.

Anatomical-mechanical vs. purpose-oriented approach to strength training

You will also need sports clothing and something to drink for this seminar.
The GesA Stud project, funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space, provides you with scientifically sound support in identifying your individual stress factors, strengthening your resources in a targeted manner and not only surviving your studies, but truly enjoying them.
The study runs for one semester, and the main effort required may vary slightly depending on your study conditions. We are investigating different study conditions (including a waiting control group) in order to achieve a high level of scientific significance. The active groups receive intensive support within the framework of the study during the first 8 weeks. If you participate in all surveys, you will receive a thank-you payment of £30. You can also choose one of several vouchers worth £50, £30 and £10 (depending on your participation in the study).
You will benefit from insights that will enhance your well-being and academic success in the long term, support research and become an expert in your everyday student life.
Participation always starts at the beginning of the semester (April/October).
The ‘all-inclusive’ programme for combating stress!
This multi-part seminar will help you expand your skills in dealing with stress in a variety of ways. You will gain a better understanding of how stress develops and learn effective, long-term methods that will help you deal with stress in a more relaxed and healthy way. Good time and learning management as well as dealing with exam anxiety are just as much a part of the programme as learning about autogenic training.
For many students, time pressure, performance pressure or exam anxiety play an important role in everyday life. But just as varied as the stressors are the ways to combat stress. This seminar is offered by Techniker Krankenkasse as part of the HEALTH4YOU project and is aimed at students of all disciplines who want to reduce stress and improve their stress management skills in the long term. The course is also open to non-members of TK. Regular attendance is required. The seminar takes place in a small group led by a qualified psychologist.
Please only register if you can attend all or most of the sessions. If you are unsure, please contact the seminar leader in advance: stresskompetent@gmx.de

For many people, dealing with conflicts and disputes causes a high degree of emotional tension and psychological stress. Especially when conflicts drag on for a long time and remain unresolved, this can lead to chronic stress disorders, fear of failure and resignation. Dealing with conflicts in a positive way protects against psychological stress, stress and psychosomatic illnesses.
Working people and career starters in all industries always face a particular challenge: they have to fit into existing teams and adapt to unfamiliar structures. Especially in the early stages of a career, misunderstandings and disagreements can quickly arise, which can strain the atmosphere and severely affect the well-being of those involved. Students are also often confronted with conflicts, usually involving diverging opinions or differing interests.
This lecture teaches strategies and techniques that help participants to better understand their own role in conflicts, recognise them in good time and defuse them.
A plant-based diet is a form of nutrition that is based mainly or exclusively on plant-based foods. The lecture provides an overview of the basics and benefits of this form of nutrition. It shows how such a diet can contribute to health, which foods are the focus, and provides practical tips for getting started in everyday life – including possible challenges and solutions.
Just quickly finish this and quickly finish that, and then finally the long-awaited break will come! Even during the Industrial Revolution, it was discovered that people can concentrate better after a break. Nevertheless, hardly anyone can claim to schedule breaks in their daily routine in such a way that their brain can really work at full speed in a positive sense. This impulse is about highlighting various ways to better integrate balanced breaks into everyday life using practical methods and supportive tools. Contents:

Goals give our lives structure and direction. But what happens when you set goals that are more likely to lead to endless procrastination? This impulse sheds light on the psychological background behind procrastination and opens up perspectives for overcoming crucial moments of procrastination.
Many students are familiar with putting off tasks or upcoming activities. This workshop aims to help you better understand procrastination and develop helpful strategies for dealing with it. We want to reflect on why it is often difficult to stick to plans and actually follow through on what you have set out to do. We will develop helpful strategies to enable you to work continuously on your own goals. These include, for example, good planning, developing routines and addressing thoughts and beliefs that encourage procrastination. What you learn will be put into practice in your everyday life between sessions and discussed in the workshop.

After a brief introduction to the basics of mindfulness, meditation and happiness, we will address the question of whether and, if so, how regular meditation and mindfulness practices can contribute to our own happiness. The theory will be supplemented by practical exercises for daily use. This will enable you to continue working on your happiness even after the lecture.

Did you know that there is such a thing as ‘incorrect breathing’?
We often breathe too much, too quickly, too strenuously and through our mouths – both in everyday life, under stress and at night. This unhealthy way of breathing increases physical stress and has negative effects on our health. But it is possible to relearn healthy breathing. With just a few minutes of daily practice, you can significantly improve your health, balance and energy. This event shows why it is worth focusing on your own breathing and combines theoretical knowledge about healthy breathing with practical breathing exercises:
Studying not only offers exciting opportunities for learning and development, but also presents a variety of challenges, such as time and performance pressure or financial burdens. In this seminar, you will learn how to take good care of yourself even in stressful times and develop a better understanding of your own needs and stress limits.
Discover what truly motivates you! In this online seminar, ‘Ikigai – The Japanese Concept of Happiness,’ you will learn how to optimally combine your strengths, passions, and goals to create a fulfilling and satisfying life – even in the midst of everyday university life. During this event, you will receive guidance on how to find your own balance between your studies or (future) career, personal passions and profound fulfilment.
The seminar is aimed at anyone who wants to live their life more consciously and recognise their potential in order to experience greater satisfaction and joy in life in the long term. This online format will inform you about the four central areas of this concept, namely ‘passion’, ‘vocation’, “mission” and ‘profession’, and provide numerous ideas and strategies for integrating ikigai into your everyday life. The right combination of these central areas allows you to actively shape your educational and life path.
