Offerings for academic staff

Universities are places of teaching, learning, and action. They educate multipliers for nearly all areas of society—individuals who will carry forward the idea of sustainable development. At TU Braunschweig, we are guided by sustainability goals, particularly in teaching. These goals are addressed across all disciplines and degree programs to provide students not only with specialist knowledge, but also with key competencies required for shaping a sustainable future.

Achieving this aim depends critically on the role of educators, who convey, develop, and bring sustainability content to life. To support them in this vital task, the Green Office offers following projects:

TUmorrow Days 2024

Strengthening SDGs in higher education

We support educators in making Sustainable Development Goals visible in their courses and curricula. As part of the Teach4TUmorrow project, the Green Office develops a range of support services — including expert input, workshops, practical guides, and individuals consultation.

Sustainability Awards

The Green Office anually presents the TUmorrow Awards, encouraging engagement with the topic of sustainability. Beside student initiatives and academic theses, the awards also honor outstanding courses that address a sustainable‐development theme through high-quality, innovative teaching concepts. The focus lies on all three areas of sustainability, submissions can be on social as well as ecological and economic issues.

The TUmorrow Journal showcases selected examples of future-oriented work at our university — from lectures, acedemic theses and and volunteer engagement. Here, the top submissions to the TUmorrow Awards are given the visibility and recognition they deserve.

Become an SDG-mentor

With our SDG Mentoring-Program, we aim to showcase exactly where and how TU Braunschweig staff engage with the 17 SDGs in teaching and research. Staff members serve as ambassadors for one of the SDGs and are featured in a short interview on our Instagram channel and on the Green Office website.
