Visualize content efficiently and professionally with AI
January 7, 2026, 8-9:30 AM, online
The AI toolbox allows you to generate not only text but also image material. You can use your creations for internal presentations, handouts, or social media, to name a few. However, the possibilities of AI in image generation are still limited and should be used with caution. In this practice-oriented introductory event, you will learn about the possibilities and limitations of the image generator, as well as important legal aspects for using images at TU Braunschweig. You will also learn strategies for formulating good prompts (inputs). During the event, you are encouraged to experiment with the tool and reflect on its potential applications for your academic studies.
This event is part of the seminar “Was mit Medien: AI – Skills and Tools for Study/Career”. It is designed for students.

Building ideas instead of discussing – Design Thinking meets Minetest (Learning Nugget #13)
January 29, 2026, 2:30–3:15 PM, online
Digital gameplay environments such as Minecraft or the open-source variant Minetest (also known as “Luanti”) are regularly used beyond their playful functions to set up test environments and develop prototypes. This makes them particularly exciting in teaching in connection with approaches such as design thinking, which involves the systematic development and testing of innovative products or services.
Speakers Varinia Wittholz and Dr. Michael Meyer from the Institute for Information Systems at TU Braunschweig will first provide an overview of design thinking, emphasizing the importance of prototyping, before giving an insight into the Minetest (Luanti) software. They will present a concrete application using an example from teaching at the Institute for Information Systems at TU Braunschweig. After the presentation, participants are invited to discuss the extent to which digital prototyping in teaching promotes creativity, understanding, and collaboration among students.
