Scientist
Dr.-Ing. Hooman Danesh joined the Institute of Applied Mechanics (IAM), Division of Data-Driven Modeling of Mechanical Systems (DDM) at TU Braunschweig in October 2025 as a scientific assistant (Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter). He received his Ph.D. from RWTH Aachen University in November 2025, where his research focused on computational homogenization and data-driven modeling of mechanical metamaterials. His work centers on data-efficient surrogate modeling, probabilistic approaches, uncertainty quantification, and inverse microstructure design. By combining physics-based computational methods with data-driven approaches, his research aims to efficiently bridge microstructure and macroscopic material behavior, enabling reliable and computationally efficient prediction and design of complex mechanical systems.
Collaboration with motivated students is more than welcome within the scope of case study (Studienarbeiten) and thesis (Abschlussarbeiten). For further information, please contact: hooman.danesh(at)tu-braunschweig.de.
