All working parents juggle the double burden of family and work. There's an urgent appointment at the office, but your daughter refuses to put her shoes on in the morning. Between household chores, meetings, raising children and parents' evenings, you rush from one thing to the next and often feel guilty in the process.

This event will give you practical strategies to make your everyday life less stressful and to create more time for positive family moments. There will also be space for individual questions and examples.

Suddenly a care case in the family - What to do?

Wednesday, 10.05.2023, 10:00-12:00 a.m.

What to do when relatives need care? Where can I get free information and independent advice? What is particularly important now? Where do I have to submit which applications? What does the classification into a care degree mean? What financial support is available?

A sudden care situation raises these and many other questions. Barbara Schmidtke from the Braunschweig care support center will provide initial answers in her informative talk and give suggestions on how those seeking advice can prepare for a visit to the care support center.

In a subsequent discussion, further topics can also be addressed in a confidential atmosphere.

Calm through stormy times - children in adolescence (webinar)

Thursday, 25.05.2023, 10:00-12:00 a.m. (online)

When children become teenagers, everyday family life changes drastically. Children often develop mood swings along the way, speak to their parents in a tone that adults would not have dared to use at their children's age, and suddenly issues come up that parents had hoped were still far away (denial, alcohol, negative feedback from school, shutting down and withdrawing, etc.). The family experiences the child increasingly "transforming," which can shake up the everyday family chaos quite a bit.

In this webinar, parents will learn:

  •     what the three major conflicts are that preoccupy adolescents during the period of puberty
  •     what the consequences can be for everyday family life
  •     what they can and must change as parents so that parents, children and their relationship with each other can grow during this turbulent time
  •     how they can go back to their everyday life strengthened.

Lecturer: Cornelia Lupprian, Familylab Family Consultant and Systemic Family Consultant

Employees will soon be able to register via the registration portal of the staff training. The link will be published here as soon as registration is possible.

Knowing how to do it in the end

Thursday, 21.09.2023, 9:00-12:00 a.m.

Many people have learned what to do in an emergency in a first aid course. However, when loved ones or friends are dying, many people do not know how to handle the situation or how to act.

In this training, basic knowledge and orientation is provided on the topics:

  •     Dying as part of life
  •     Provision and decision-making
  •     Relieving suffering and saying goodbye

and provides information on simple and practical ways to help. The focus of the course is on how you can support close people in their last phase of life. Participants will be encouraged to turn to dying people and to gain confidence in their own actions and attitudes when accompanying them.

Lecturers: Ursula Busch & Dr. Katharina Henke-Jürgens, Hospizarbeit Braunschweig e.V.

Employees will soon be able to register via the registration portal of the staff training. The link will be published here as soon as registration is possible.
