In my research, I focus on transformation processes in energy-intensive industries, with a particular emphasis on primary steel production. The central question is how to achieve climate-neutral and competitive production from a production economics perspective. A particular focus is on tactical production planning in the context of economic, ecological and technical targets. Using methods from operations research, life cycle assessment (LCA) and life cycle costing (LCC), I design, analyse and evaluate strategies for achieving the transformation of energy-intensive industries in a sustainable and economical manner.
If you are interested, you can support my research activities as part of your thesis or student research project, or as a student research assistant.
