Bachelor Seminar Services Management

Description

In the winter semester 25/26, you can look forward to a Future Mobility Challenge as part of our Bachelor's seminar (4 CP), in which you will develop new, forward-looking business models for automated and connected driving in interdisciplinary teams.

Automated driving is one of the key future technologies in the field of mobility and transport systems. Automated and connected driving opens up a wide range of potential uses, from driverless shuttle services in urban areas to intelligent logistics solutions and data-based mobility services for specific target groups such as senior citizens or commuters. New business models in the areas of infrastructure management, fleet optimisation or "Mobility as a Service" (MaaS) are also emerging through the networking of vehicles with their surroundings and other road users.

As part of the seminar, you will independently develop future-orientated business models with a focus on automated driving. The aim is to identify innovative ways of utilising this key technology and to develop viable business approaches that integrate economic, technological and social aspects. In addition to analysing the market and competition, the focus is also on designing value creation strategies, defining target groups and technological framework conditions.

Depending on your specific questions, you will choose flexibly between qualitative and quantitative study designs: you will learn to formulate precise research questions, select suitable data collection methods (e.g. expert interviews, surveys, secondary data analyses) and systematically evaluate your data. You will then discuss your findings in an economic and scientific context and develop robust conclusions for your business models. This seminar combines interesting research with practice-orientated design and thus strengthens your skills in scientific work.

Basics of scientific work

Description

Scientific work is one of the core competencies of the course of study and is a necessary prerequisite for obtaining both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree. In theoretical as well as highly interactive units, the seminar shows the basics of scientific work, such as structuring a paper or literature work. In addition, you will learn "storytelling" for your work in order to establish and maintain the thread of the paper. The interactive sessions will also provide the opportunity to refer to individual questions and your own examples.
