TU for Future

What is "TU for Future"?

In winter semester 23/24, all people from Braunschweig will once again have the opportunity to learn more about and discuss the climate crisis and other environmentally relevant topics. "TU for Future" is an annual series of lectures held in the winter semester at the TU Braunschweig, organised with student support. Renowned lecturers from a wide range of disciplines report on their perspectives on sustainability and climate-relevant problems and point to possible solutions. Each lecture is followed by a discussion with the audience. The qualification goal of the event is also the controversial discussion of the presented topics by all participants.

TU students can obtain credits for the course if the following conditions are met:

• At least 10 sessions must be attended
• At least 10 exercise sheets (Vips) must be handed in, where at least 1 point is achieved per exercise sheet (the exercise sheet for the matriculation number does not count here)
• A total of 50% of all points must be achieved
• The matriculation number and the faculty was registered

The TU for Future 23/24 will take place in presence in the Audimax of the TU Braunschweig.
In cases of hardship, digital participation in the event can be requested. In this case, we will make the lecture available as a video. All other conditions mentioned above remain valid. Who organises the TU for Future series?

The TU for Future series is a joint event of AStA, Students for Future Braunschweig and the Green Office.

The Green Office is responsible for the organisation.

Background

The TU for Future lecture series originated in the winter semester of 19/20, when it was organised by the Presidential Board, the Students for Future Braunschweig and the AStA. The Executive Board responded to the Students for Future's demand for more free educational opportunities on the topic of sustainability for the general public. The target group is therefore quite deliberately all citizens of the city of Braunschweig.

Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Durner has taken over the lectureship for TU for Future until the winter semester 2022/23.
