Sandra earned her M.A. in Architecture at the Technische Hochschule Nürnberg, where her master’s thesis investigated the intersectional impact of urban design and planning on marginalized groups under the focus of public space as democratic space. During and after her studies, Sandra worked at different architecture and urban planning practices, as a research assistant and as an editor at the architectural journal Bauwelt. Since 2023, she has been active nationally and internationally as a journalist, focusing on human-centered urban development, public architecture and participatory projects.
As part of the interdisciplinary TRANSFORMPATHS project at the SpACE Lab, Sandra’s research focusses on mobility-centred settlement development in its multidimensional context along the urban-rural gradient.
