Preliminary maths course (face-to-face course) | OMB+ (online course)
The TU Braunschweig offers pre-courses in mathematics to prepare students for their studies. The preliminary maths course is designed to improve computational confidence, increase calculation speed and close gaps in knowledge.
Please note that the preliminary mathematics course is always offered at the start of the winter semester.
Preliminary Maths Course
For students starting their studies in the summer semester, we recommend attending the Online Mathematics Bridge Course Plus (OMB+). The OMB+ can be attended at any time.

Dedekinder orientation week (start of winter semester) | Dedekinder orientation days (start of summer semester)
To make it easier for students to start their studies, the ‘Dedekinder Orientation Week’ takes place before the start of the lecture period in the winter semester and the ‘Dedekinder Orientation Days’ in the summer semester. The aim of the orientation week and orientation days is to enable all first-semester students on the Mathematics (1-subject and 2-subject Bachelor's, Master's), Financial and Business Mathematics (Bachelor's and Master's) and Mathematics for Computational Sciences (Bachelor's) degree programmes to get to know the university and their fellow students. Students in higher semesters who are transferring to TU Braunschweig from another university are also cordially invited.
The orientation week consists of:
- Information about the degree programmes, subject content, organisation of studies and general contact points
- Lectures on mathematics (only in the winter semester)
- Joint activities with the Student Representatives and students from the higher semesters
- Presentation of the University Library (UB) (only in the winter semester)
You will receive information about the Freshers' Week by e-mail in good time. Please note that all events are subject to change.
