The Global Teachers for a Sustainable Future (GTSF) project brings together 11 esteemed universities and organizations from Europe, Asia, and Latin America. It aims to create innovative, evidence-based teaching and learning practices in Higher Education institutions and to empower future educators to become change agents in creating a more sustainable and inclusive world.

Through innovative training programs, collaborative learning environments, and interdisciplinary approaches, our initiative is dedicated to advancing education for sustainable development and global citizenship across contexts.

We are committed to generating transferable knowledge, cultivating global mindsets in students to become change agents in a more sustainable and equitable world, training sustainable teachers, and contributing to the 2030 Agenda and Sustainable Development Goals.

Nurturing Global Citizens through Sustainable Education and Future Learning (09/2024 – 08/2025)

The project "Nurturing Global Citizens through Sustainable Education and Future Learning" (“Nurturing Global Citizens”) will develop an English-language module package comprising 30 ECTS.

Content wise, the interdisciplinary module package will focus on (education for) sustainable development and integrate international elements. It will be firmly integrated into the curriculum and will be available to students pursuing a two-subject Bachelor’s degree (with and without a teacher training option), a single-subject Bachelor’s degree in Educational Science, and international students participating in their exchange program. It will also be accessible to students from other faculties through the POOL program.

The module package will thus address the cross-cutting themes of sustainability and internationalization through interconnected components, linking to the key research areas of the university: mobility, engineering for health, and the city of the future. It aims to equip students with skills that foster the development of a global citizen mindset.

  • Prof. Dr. Carmen Becker (Project Lead)
