I am interested in component-oriented software-engineering (CBSE) in the context of scientific computing. CBSE in general formalizes the idea of building software from software-components. Scientific software which targets the field of numerical simulation sets special boundary conditions and requirements onto a potential component-paradigm, since it has to be high-performant, scaleable, verifiable and has to give traceable results.
