Your registration for using the library

Your registration for using the library enables you to borrow printed literature, access our computer workstations and log into your digital user account in our catalog.

The registration is possible for:

  • students of the TU
  • Members and affiliates of the TU
  • Persons over 16 years with permanent residence in Germany
  • Persons from 15 years of age with declaration of consent to register minors​​​​​​​

Registration for students of the TU Braunschweig*

* You will need your TUCard for this.

 

Register for non-students of the TU

* Please note that when you pick up your library card, you must present a valid ID card, valid passport and official registration certificate or residence permit with valid address.

More information for students of the TU

For students of the TU Braunschweig we can offer the possibility of contactless registration. Please use the registration form for students of the TU, a TUcard is necessary.
After you have filled out and sent the form, your data will be checked and activated by our colleagues at the loan desk. You will then receive an e-mail and are registered for use. 
And of courise it is still possible for you to come to the circulation desk personally to complete your registration. Please check our opening hours first.

Students with a TUcard are exempt from the fee of 5 €.

Further information for non-students of the TU

For your successful registration for use, please fill out the appropriate registration form.

After filling out the registration form, you can pick up your user card personally at the lending desk during our opening hours.

You will need

  • a valid identity card, or
  • a valid passport and an official registration certificate, or
  • the residence permit with valid address   
  • Students of the HBK and Ostfalia: additionally the valid student card
  • Employees of the TU Braunschweig: additionally a certificate of employment, if you are not listed in the course catalog.
  • According to the Nds. scale of fees for libraries, a one-time fee of 5 € is charged for issuing the library card. For members of the TU Braunschweig this fee is covered by the UB Braunschweig

The user card is usually valid for one year and can be renewed in person at the loan desk. Please present the above-mentioned documents. The renewal is free of charge.

 

Adress changes

Please report any change of residence to the ciruclation desk by e-mail to ub-leihstelle(at)tu-braunschweig.de.

 

Loss of user card

In your own interest, please report the loss of your user card immediately to the loan desk. 
A replacement user card can be issued on request (fee: 5 EUR).

Please report the loss of your TUcard to the Studienservice-Center der TU  or outside its opening hours at the University Library.

Saturday: 10:00 - 22:00 o`clock
Sunday: 10:00 - 17:00 o`clock
