Promote the future! Deutschlandstipendium at the Technical University of Braunschweig

Kristina Rottig/TU Braunschweig

“The network concept is a top priority for the Deutschlandstipendium at the TU Braunschweig. As a sponsor and scholarship holder, you are part of a lively community and benefit from mutual exchange. This often creates connections that last beyond the course of study.”

Prof. Dr. Angela Ittel, President of the TU Braunschweig

How does the program work?

The Deutschlandstipendium is a matching funds program. The university acquires sponsors who donate half of the scholarship amount for one year. The other half is co-financed by the federal government. The funding period is two semesters and the funding amount for students is 300.00 euros per month.

According to which criteria are the Deutschlandstipendium awarded?

The granting of the Deutschlandstipendium is clearly regulated in the scholarship program law. The universities have to award the Deutschlandstipendium on the basis of "talent and performance". The universities may also take voluntary commitment, a sense of responsibility or special personal circumstances into account when making the decision.

We expect more from the Deutschlandstipendium holders of the TU Braunschweig than excellent grades. We expect you to think outside the box of your field of study and to think in larger contexts. The prospect of future performance is just as important to us in the evaluation and selection as your current grade point average.

When making our selection, we will therefore evaluate your achievements to date, but we will also examine your aptitude for your field of study and pay particular attention to your personality. Criteria such as independence, originality and problem-solving skills are important to us.

This means that an average grade of 1 is not a guarantee for a Deutschlandstipendium - but an average of 2 does not have to be an exclusion criterion.

How will the selection take place?

The selection is made by commissions of the TU Braunschweig. The decisions are made on the basis of your written application (which we received as an online application in the application portal) and, if necessary, on the basis of an interview.

When will the Deutschlandstipendium be awarded?

The Germany scholarships are awarded in the winter semester. The application phase for the academic year 2023/24 will take place from June 19, 2023 to July 16, 2023. You will find more informations on our Website.
